In 2003, Jeff Hardy formed a band called Peroxwhy?gen, with members of the band Burnside 6, and fellow wrestler Shannon Moore [who later left]. The band recorded two songs; One of the songs was "September Day", a song Jeff wrote the day of the September 11 attacks, expressing his reaction to it. Rumors arose that Peroxwhy?gen split up in 2004 shortly after recording their second song, "Modest", which Jeff later used as his entrance music in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling [TNA]. On the official Peroxwhy?gen MySpace, however, the rumors were denounced. Currently, Peroxwhy?gen only has two members, Jeff Hardy and JR Merrill, who get together whenever possible to record and mix new songs.
Official Peroxwhy?gen Bio: Peroxwhy?gen started with Jeff Hardy & Shannon Moore wanting to start their own band....They had ideas & and a goal, but when the demise of WCW sent Shannon to HWA in Cincinnati the band idea seemed to end. Until by chance Shannon met Jr Merrill at a local gym. Jr was then in a band called Burnside 6. They had just recorded their first CD. Jr was a huge fan of wrestling since he was a little kid watching the old WWF & NWA. He recognized Shannon & approached him to give him the new BS6 Cd. Shannon accepted & said that he & Jeff wanted to start their own band. Jr & Shannon talked for a while about music. Numbers were exchanged & a week later Jeff called Jr to tell him he liked the disc but wasn't really into heavy music. He really liked the song Dying....which later became September Day. Jeff & Jr stayed in touch by phone for a while. Jr & Shannon hung out all the time in Cincy partying & working on music. About a month later WWF was in Cleveland. Jr & the rest of BS6 decided to go & hang out with Jeff. Shannon had prior
obligations & couldn't make it. They all had a blast. Jeff came to Cincy to jam with BS6 minus their singer a few times...it was then that Jr & Jeff's relationship was solidified. Whenever the WWF/WWE came near Ohio Jr went to the shows to work on music with Jeff afterward. The 2 really like the vibe of acoustic songs they were writing. This has continues till this day with an ever evolving style for the band. The band hopes to record some solid demos if not an EP this year.Only time will tell. Until then they have had alot of online support from their world of fans & hope to gain many more in the years to come. More to come....
